On October 3, 2009, we held the 1st Ella Grasso Recognition Dinner. We celebrated the 35th Anniversary Celebration of the 1974 election of Ella Tambussi Grasso, our “first woman governor elected in her own right”. Our recipient for the award was Margaret Carlquist of Southbury Club. It was a grand evening with remarks from Ella Grasso’s daughter, State Senator Gary LeBeau, and our keynote speaker the Honorable Susan Bysiewicz Secretary of the State.
